Exporting Data to a Spreadsheet or Database - ASCII Text Formatted Reports

Facilitators use ASCII text formatted reports to prepare summarized scores and raw data reports of survey results from single-criteria surveys (that is, for surveys with a single column of voting). The ASCII reports are designed to be saved as text files and imported into spreadsheet or statistical applications for further analysis and reporting. ASCII text report options are available to Pro facilitators and to Express facilitators and users with additional access checked in their user profile.

Individual voters are identified as "Respondent 1," "Respondent 2," etc., allowing comparison of answers to different questions from the same person, while preserving the voters' anonymity. Administrators have additional report options that identify individual voters by User ID (name) for use when voting scores need to be attributed to individual users. (Pro license numbers only. Clients may choose to forego this option.) Another way to identify individual voters would be to use a custom logon screen (Section 28) and collect names in one of the demographic fields, typically Level 3 (updateOrg3) which is not available for online viewing of results but is available when exporting voting data.

NOTE: The FacilitatePro web server must have HTTP Download enabled for these report options to be available. Running a report creates a temporary file on the server computer. Preparation of raw data reports for very long surveys or a large number of respondents can create big files (e.g., 1MB); transmission of these files may take a few seconds.
