User Groups
Facilitators use user groups to manage participant access to conferences and topics. Every user must belong to a group in order to access a meeting. Administrators manage the assignment of user groups to facilitators.Upon installation, FacilitatePro assigns all users, conferences and topics to Group 0 allowing general access by all users to all conferences and topics. When a user ID is created, it is designated as a member of one or more user Groups through its user profile. When conferences and topics are created, they allow group access by one or more user groups. A user ID's user Group designation must match a conference and topic's Group Access to allow the user to participate in that conference and topic.User IDs receive primary group numbers that correspond to conference and topic access. A user's Current Topic is determined by the designated current topic for the user's primary group. User IDs may also be assigned secondary group numbers that allow the user to access conferences and topics for multiple user groups.FacilitatePro is licensed for a certain number of user groups. The standard license for FacilitatePro includes three user groups. Administrators can organize facilitators and general users into three separate groups (perhaps a general access group and several restricted access groups) with access to different sets of conferences and topics. Additional user groups can be added through a license upgrade.
