Default Settings for New Conferences and Topics
The Conference Manager includes a special Conference called Default Settings. The Topics listed in this Conference are used to define the default systems when any facilitator or a certain named facilitator creates a new Topic or Subtopic. The Topic DS is used to as a template for all new Topics and Subtopics. An administrator (or Pro facilitator with access to this Conference) may create additional Topics named for specific facilitators, for example, DS_JoeSmith where JoeSmith is the facilitator's User ID.When any facilitator (Express or Pro) creates a new Topic or Subtopic, the system will first look to see if there is a Topic template defined for their facilitator ID in the Default Settings Conference. If not, the system will look for the DS Topic in the Default Settings Conference and use that. If there is no DS Topic or the Default Settings Conference is missing altogether, the system will revert to hard-coded options in the product code.NOTE: Do not delete the Default Settings Conference.
