Section 3. FacilitatePro Organizing Structure

Conference Structure

FacilitatePro is an electronic conference center where activity is organized into meetings or "Conferences." Each Conference has an agenda, created by a facilitator, with a series of agenda "Topics" and possibly "Subtopics." Topics and Subtopics are where the work gets done. Each Topic (or Subtopic) consists of an electronic flip chart where "Ideas" or "Items" are added by the facilitator and by participants during "brainstorming." Ideas in a flip chart can be organized under sub-headings or "Categories." After the brainstorming activity, a facilitator may ask participants to prioritize or evaluate the ideas/items - we call this "voting." To prepare for voting a facilitator chooses a method of voting and distributes "ballots." Each participant works on their individual ballot and submits their voting scores. The facilitator then displays the flip chart as a "voting results table" and tabulates the data from the group. The facilitator may then direct the participants to move on to the next agenda topic for another round of brainstorming, categorizing, voting or action planning.
